We are delighted to announce that our school is taking part in the Scoil Spreagtha scheme for 2026. Scoil Spreagtha is an accredited initiative designed to promote and celebrate the use of Irish in English‑medium primary schools, recognising the efforts of schools that encourage children to engage with the Irish language in a positive and meaningful way.
Developed by Gael Linn, Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin and Ulster University, and funded by Foras na Gaeilge, the programme aims to inspire schools to showcase and expand their Irish language activity within the school environment.
The scheme has already become one of the most significant language‑promotion initiatives in Northern Ireland, with over 80 schools taking part. It provides opportunities for pupils to experience Irish in enjoyable, practical ways and helps foster a love of language learning from an early age.
We look forward to embracing this exciting opportunity and sharing our progress with pupils, parents, and the wider community over the coming months.
