Donagh Development Association has been operating from 1992 when a group of volunteers came together with the vision to help the community and improve the lives of those living locally. Since then, there has been progress on many fronts both visually in Donagh, through activities and provisions as well as strengthening links externally with statutory organisations. However, over the past number of years, the pool of volunteers available to ensure successful running of the organisation has remained the same and very few in number. The majority of the present committee have been serving for over 10 years. We are asking for your help. We are not expecting anyone to have to serve on a committee but even to show up and assist those who are already there, show them you can give your support. If Donagh Development Association do not manage to get more volunteers involved, we will continue but only in a capacity as caretakers for the hall and playschool and we will no longer be running events or activities, no longer pursuing funding avenues for the community or lobby on the community's behalf to statutory bodies. It is disappointing that we have to take this approach but today's society has become so much busier for everyone and that includes the people who have been giving up their time for over 10 years. Please if you can come along to the AGM, even for a half hour, it will mean so much. We want new faces, new ideas and welcome anyone.
