Big Summer Read - Libraries NI

The Big Summer Read aims to encourage primary school children to continue to read books for pleasure during the summer months and help address the 'slide' in reading progress over the school holidays.    A copy of the challenge is attached for you to take a look at: it allows children to travel through time on their reading journey. They must complete 66 reading adventures over 66 days (reading for 15 minutes a day) and complete four library visits during that time. Children can come and pick up their adventure challenge cards from Friday 27 June in any NI Library.   Lisnaskea Library will also be running some free events over the summer to tie in with the different categories of challenges. The first event is a Prehistoric sensory session which will include a story time and craft events on 02/07/2025 at 3pm (aimed at 4 - 9 year olds) and booking is essential.   Details of each event will be on the Libraries NI website and can be booked in person or by telephone by a parent/guardian.
